Received an email today from [email protected] that was titled “You’ve been chosen!”. The content said “Chase” and $90 in big letters. It’s a scam, fraud, phishing attempt.
The the email read:
Chase$90Date of issue:10/08/2021 Order Number: 86410.6408 Account: My email was here Date of expiry: 20/08/2021 Congratulations MyNameWasHere,* Thank you for using Chase. Your recent purchase has got you eligible for an exclusive reward worth $90. You are one of 10 randomly selected Chase customers who will receive this reward. You have been rewarded a free reward worth $90. Just click on the button below to claim your reward.Click here |
Clearly they are trying to make me think that I have won $90. There is a big “Click Here” button on the email as well.
I did open up the link in a separate browser, which took me to a page that clearly was not Chase, but was made to look like a page from Chase Bank. But when you look in the address bar, the website was “thearcadess.com”, not Chase.com. The original link in the email was for “https://storage.googleapis.com/01439e9df401e2e/alinkasa.html#/rd/c14057ioLhq10842428ghUm396003gNC2159avNQ714”. Which was probably some sort of tracking code which redirected the traffic to the other page.

This Chase – You’ve been chosen $90 SCAM is very simple. They are trying to capture your information, it’s called phishing. They will send you to a page that looks like the real Chase bank, then ask you for your login information, and capture it.
If you ever receive an email from your bank or any entity in which you do business with, do not click on links, go to your browser or app, and login in directly yourself.
If and when you receive one of these fake Chase scam emails, report it to [email protected]
Same here, i have reported [email protected] to google. they have done nothing.
apparently thousand of people scammed by this gmail user.
Getting these emails too, all from different email addresses , but all with the reply to: [email protected]
Google seems unable or unwilling to ban this user.
